| (Anti Settling Agent in all type of Paints & Primers) |
|
| The use of K.I. NILLSET -117 is particularly recommended for heavy pigments such as red lead, barytes. Iron oxides Etc. as these pigments quickly form a hard deposit, which often cannot be brought into suspension, because of its high surface activity, K.I. NILLSET -117 keeps these pigments in suspension. If slight sedimentation takes place, it can be brought back into suspension without any difficulty. |
|
| METHOD OF APPLICATION |
| Due to its liquid form, the incorporation of K.I. - NILLSET -117 is very easy & it can be added to the paint at any stage of manufacturing. Addition of K.I. - NILLSET -117 at the time of grinding stage is most effective. |
|
| QUANTITES TO BE USED |
It depends upon : (1) Nature of pigments (2) The type of binders used.
It is well known that lightweight pigments require less amount of Anti Settling as compared to the heavy pigments. In the same way if binders are used, which due to the size of their molecules hinder the sedimentation of pigments to a greater extent, less amount of K.I. - NILLSET -117 is required. The right quantity can only be determined by experiments. |
|
| APPLICATIONS |
| K.I. - NILLSET -117 is highly suitable for all types of primers like surfacers, red oxide primers, Zinc Chrome & red lead primers. Suggested use level is 0.5 %. K.I. - NILLSET -117 is also effective in ready mix paints, enamels, OBDs Etc. and it is generally recommended for all types of paints. Suggested use level is 0.3 % to be added at the grinding stage for best effect. No effect on gloss is observed if not used in excess. |
|
| RECOMMENDED DOSAGES |
% -0.25 % on the weight of pigments & extenders.
If required effect is not obtained then the quantity should be gradually increased.
If iron oxide paints about 0.5 % -1 % of NILLSET -117 can be used. |
|
| ADVANTAGES IN USING NILLSET -117 |
Addition of K.I. - NILLSET -117 helps in :
Providing effective & trouble free control of Settling & Sagging,
Proper pigment suspension,
Water resistance,
No effect on color, goss & drying time.
Flow control,
Better adhesion,
Corrosion resistance |
